Skin Whitening.

Skin Whitening.
Welcome to my blog!J Throughout this blog I will be answering the following questions. Why lighter skinned black People are more accepted in society. Why that is dark skinned black people feel light skinned people are superior to them? What are their stereotypical judgements about dark and light skinned blacks? What input the media has had into making us black people feel this inferior vs superior way? & most importantly why are we having this bloody argument in the first place?
Now sit back, Put your feet up & prepare for a journey full of laughter, shock, humour & excitement. One thing for sure it's definitely going to be an eye opener.

ENJOY!! JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ

COMEDY OR NOT?...FUNNY OR NOT...That is the question.

I will be perfectly honest. When i first saw this I wasn't sure whether to take offence or not.I had to watch it twice till I saw the humour in what he was saying.Perhaps Its just me being too sensitive. But then again its life..However I'm glad he sees the inequality and is aware of the different experiences black people and white people face in society.Have a watch of 1 minute of it.Who knows you might even laugh!

Goffy Goff!!

GOFFMAN
The famous Goffy Goff said that ‘One common way that individuals attempt to avoid the negative identity implications of stigmatizing attribute is to identify with ones “in-group,” or with others who share the stigmatizing attributes.'

A simple way of putting this is that we join groups to gain acceptance. And this is how we as individuals either take on new ideologies, representation, mode of address and new identities. However  because of these new identites we can sometimes lose sight of the culture and values we use to have.

Throughout one of physical elements was constantly brought up. Hair. The length, the colour and the texture was what they seemed to value to most.I ask myself why this is. Could it be jealously? Naaa I don’t think so.Could it just be the ways they are expressing there inequality they feel they experience? No I don’t think it’s that either.

I believe it;s because being light skinned is what is closest to white so they feel that the way they are able to associate themselves with white Caucasian people is through there physical appearance. These being the length and silky texture of their hair etc. And as white people are seen as having power and authority it then allows light skinned people to feel that they can associate certain physical feature on their body with white people.Especially their hair.
